Max has an outgoing personality and is not "sheltie-shy".  He gets along wonderfully with kids and other dogs.  We haven't exposed him to cats, but we think he would do well and can try an introduction if someone has a cat.  Even when he meets a grumpy person or pet, Max responds with kindness. He is a lover, not a fighter.  He needs to be in a family where the pets return that affection to him.

He loves short lazy sniffy walks and going on car rides. He loves treats and can catch any treat tossed at him from any distance. Max loves to play fetch.  He is used to dog stairs to help him chill on the couch by your side or sleep on the bed next to you.  He doesn't mind if you steal the covers!

Sometimes I'll notice the softest little lick on my ankle and realize it is Max, needing something. Gentle Max isn't pushy, just a polite guy.

He is housebroken and extremely responsible in that department.  He has never had an accident or marked in our house and is past the chewing stage.

Max is highly food and affection motivated and needs to lose a few pounds.  He bonds quickly to anyone who loves him.  He would be a wonderful low-key friend who just enjoys hanging out (especially if hanging out means going to get a pup cup!).

Max has a minor heart arrythmia, so heat and exercise needs to be monitored.  He is about 8 years young and came to us as an owner release.
